Tongue Depressors
Our tongue depressors are sterile wooden medical devices used in medical practice to depress the tongue to allow for examination of the mouth and throat. These tasteless, odorless and smooth sticks can also be used as a finger splint if needed. They come in bulk sizes of 100/500 and also can be purchased individually.
Current Tongue depressors used in the medical field are made out of wood. Earlier versions of tongue depressors were made from balsa, pine, redwood and metal. For instance, tongue depressors from the American Civil War which were made from wood and metal still exist today.
