DID YOU KNOW? Technically most sunburns are considered "first degree" burns as they only effect the outerlayer of the skin. The red skin might hurt when you touch it. These sunburns are mild and can usually be treated at home. Some sunburns though can be qualified as "second degree" burns, meaning that deep skin layers and nerve endings have been damaged and the skin can swell up and blister. A doctor/urgent care run maybe in order depending on the true severity of this type of burn
