Die

CPR is all about avoiding sudden death, and of course we also love movies about characters that the bad guys just can't kill no matter how hard they try.... On this day, in 1988, Bruce Willis went beyond his semi-fame from TV's Moonlighting series and began his trip to mega stardom when he played the lead role in Die Hard. Willis portrayed a New York cop, John McClane, who takes on a group of highly skilled criminals performing a heist in a Los Angeles skyscraper. Based on the 1979 novel "Nothing Lasts Forever" Die Hard went on to gross more than $140 million worldwide in theaters and was given outstanding reviews from critics. From that film, Willis was first seen by many as the action hero he is to this day. There are 5 Die Hard series movies and a 6th on the way. (It was first rumored that Bruce would make no more than a cameo appearance in the new film, but sources say there will be a bit more original John McClane action than just that...)
