DOT In-Depth HAZMAT Security Training

With security awareness ramped up because of terrorism concerns, an effort to fight the harborers of these concerns and improve the security of hazardous materials being shipped, the Department of Transportation has added three major security requirements to their HAZMAT regulations. Companies that handle hazardous materials must develop a security plan, and give their employees security awareness and in-depth security training. Our training products on "DOT In-Depth HAZMAT Security Training" make employees aware of the risks associated with transporting hazardous materials and give them an understanding of their facility's HAZMAT Security Plan.

One of the "Musts" a company must do to comply with federal regulations in regard to transporting, handling and storing hazardous materials is to have a Security Plan, specifically for "Large Bulk Quantity." At a minimum, your security plan must address personnel security, unauthorized access, and en route security. This plan includes in-depth training for whomever handles, performs a regulated function related to, or implements the security plan. This training must provide an awareness of the security risks associated with hazmat transportation and methods to enhance transportation security.
